Berczy Bulletin: The March Edition

If this month has left any imprint on us it’s got to be girl power. We celebrated International Women’s Day and Mother’s Day with gusto, and saw a country-wide campaign launched around women’s rights. Leaving us with a lot of reflections, and becoming a rather poignant month in 2021.

Outside spring has sprung: the days are getting longer and the end of lockdown is in sight. We’re longing for those long, warm summer nights with friends, but for now, crack open a Berczy and taste those fresh, fruity summer flavours!

New Stockists

Our team has been hard at work, and we’re now available to buy in over 50 garden centres, farm shops and delis up and down the UK! We are also distributing through the independent sector, with a focus on Birmingham and London. If you think your local stockist would be interested just let us know and we’d love to help!

Wonderful Wild Women

We also caught up with the founder of the awesome all female community, Wonderful Wild Women. Based in the Lake District, they’ve formed a tight-knit group of adventurists and outdoor enthusiasts, read our interview to find out what makes them tick and how you can get involved!

Marilyn is the fantastic mum of our co-founder Matt, she’s also our Head of Finance and a whizz with numbers. Most of Marilyn's career has been in television broadcast production, between working on the likes of Bullseye and Spitting Image for ITV and Coast, Countryfile and Gardeners World on BBC.

What she’s interested in? Everything from current affairs, reading and travel to good food, walks, running and yoga.

Best place to visit? My favourite travel destination has to be India. The attack on the senses when you land never ceases to amaze me, I love the culture, people, food and the complete vibrancy of the country. The way they live a life of simplicity embracing ingenious methods is fascinating, I learn so much from them. I’ll be sure to return when the world opens up again.

Which flavour she'll be grabbing tonight? Funny you should ask: Passionfruit & Turmeric, perhaps it’s my love for India that shines through. I also enjoy a refreshing Lemon & Lime when the sun shines. I've been known to mix a drop of gin with it on special occasions. I am converting my girlfriends to this new drink; they appreciate the low-calorie impact without compromising on the six o'clock fix!

What she’s loving right now? I’m reading Prisoners of Geography by Tim Marshall. It's fascinating how the economy is largely framed by the lie of the land, globally. While my taste in music is all over the place – an eclectic mix – but my favourite has to be The Beatles.
